So, you are out of those fresh mints that help freshen your breath and now all you have left are those little metal tins. WAIT, don’t throw them away. Those tins that held your tasty mints can in be reused for a multitude of creative ideas. You can start by cleaning your tins thoroughly, with some warm water and mild soap. Once you have removed all the residue from them and make sure you dry them, you’re ready to reclaim them into little creative cool boxes.

Paint, paper, or polish and with a dash of patience you can give these cool little mint tins a new creative and unique look. Listed below are several ways to customize and personalize your mint tins and give it a special exiting new appearance.

The materials you’ll need decorating your mint tins:

Jewelry Boxes – These are great when going on vacation and trying to figure out where to keep your rings, earrings, cufflinks and a necklace? Use your decorated mint tin to safely carry your precious belongings without getting lost in your carry-ons. Secure a rubber band around your tin, so it doesn’t open while traveling.

Button Boxes– Everyone has extra buttons in their home. Usually scattered or mixed with other little things. Now you can organize all those spare buttons in your awesome little personalized mint tin so the next time a button falls off your favorite shirt or blouse, now you can save time by finding the exact button (or close to it) in your tin of buttons.
